I would personally say that this is a very bad idea. Coz, it will be very disturbing to enter orders.
If you press "F1" and "F2" in quick succession ,only colour changes ,everything remains UNCHANGED.

I had a bad experience ,previous day.I purchased NIFTY options @64 and
I squaredoff at 83.5.The net position is bulged instead of truncated.

When I opened tradebook ,I did not square off but I purchased the options,
at peak. The high reached was 84.

I have anyway no regrets, because it one of the mistakes committed by all,
when in HURRY.This problem can be solved to some extent by have different
SHAPEs and different locations in screen if possible.

Another idea is to have different keys, rather than adjacent keys.
(like F1 and F12 instead of F1 and F2).

I think different shapes would be disturbing; different colors are good enough. OTOH, Columbus's ideas about the visuals generally work well.

Columbus, maybe the mistake was a one off, not needing any systemic changes. Maybe the future versions of NOW will have customisable hot keys.

We may also use + & - keys located at Keypad....... It goes with our mentality and I have never ever punched a wrong trade (I have never ever used F1 & F2 for trading either)...... :)
Hi aditya,

Good thing you are not using F1&F2.But NOW is not using "+" or "-".
Now I want to use either Net position or ADMIN to square off.
The advantage is ,you need not bother about the type of operation.

I am using LAPTOP and laptop does not contain NUMERIC pad.May be the reason.
I have faced similar problem like friend 'columbus' more than once when using laptop, may be sometime brain fails to detect colors amid tension.
But, I have found different solution. I use a Programmable mouse form Logitech: Mouse G500. It is designed for Gaming but I have found it very useful for Trading and it is my friend amid tension.
It is little costly but has 10 programmable buttons & 3 Years Warranty.
But, a wrong trade due to erroneous entry of key might cost higher than the price of that mouse.;)
Happy Trading

Maybe they could introduce 2 different plans - for high frequency and for high volume traders.

1) Rs. 100 per day (for the traded days only)
2) Rs. 20 per contract.
+ taxes etc., of course.

How's that sound ? Pick holes in it, if you find any. The Republic Day sounds a good launching pad and is within 2 weeks limit.

With Plan 1 they may have some trouble adjusting Rs. 100 across different segments, maybe.
