Hi Friends, I want to buy a new device which will allow me to use Airtel 4G Internet on Laptop and Desktop PC Simultaneously.

I checked out the details given on this link –
http://www.airtel.in/4g/index

I am confused about which particular device should I buy. I do not want to get LOCKED with Airtel, as Reliance is soon going to launch 4G Internet and would like my device to be capable of supporting Reliance Sim, whenever it becomes available.

But if there is absolutely no way go get a device currently, which will work with Airtel and Reliance both, then I will go for Airtel Locked Device for the time being, as I urgently need to have 4G Internet.

If anyone of you have any experience with Airtel 4G then please suggest, which particular device should I buy.

Should I buy “4G Hotspot” price mentioned on site Rs 2300
Create a WiFi Hotspot for up to 10 devices
No USB port required
Battery lasts up to 6 hours
Airtel 4G Portable WiFi Hotspot Review – YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmpcnAKcoTg

Or should I buy “ Airtel 4G Dongle” price mentioned on site Rs 1500
Simply plug & play
Micro SD card slot helps use the Dongle as a memory stick
AND then use some wi fi router, which supports such Dongles to convert them into proper wi fi device. For example – TP-LINK TL-MR3220 3G/4G Wireless N Router

One guy has mentioned this in his review, on the above link – “Since I was not sure if this will work with ZTE K3800, I was bit nervous. Yesterday the product came promptly & I installed. It was very easy to install & make the settings. My device got detected & to my surprise it gave more than 7 Mbps Speed. Now I have connected this to my PC, Airtel HD DVR & even my Blue Ray Player. Fantastic.”
Or if there is any other better way, you are aware of ? Please suggest.

Thanks a lot

i dont recommend depending on 3g or 4g.you can use for backup.
disconnection problem is more in mobile network.every mobile network has some disconecting policy (internal) fixed time, more traffic.or somthingelse
any wire line or any isp provider because they dont have lines problem .
if power failure they stop internet service only phones will work.

If you go for 4G , as you say that you are in urgent need then go with the HOTSPOT. The router thing creates problem , and the hotspot device has a cool feature of plug & play which is very easy to use and also comes in very handy at times as you can carry it with you very easily. Hotspot I used for MTS connection. Quite user friendly.

Regarding locked devices there are some mobile engineers who can help to unlock the device. I did this with my 3G dongle [not hotspot] of Airtel to use Idea 3G which worked better.

Regarding the hot spot device I cannot say that it can be unlocked or not as I am yet to opt for it.

As MT4 trader says Internet thru cable is certainly still very good choice. But this depends lot on service providers catering in our region & area.

That is great to know. I will be buying postpaid only, if there is any difference between the postpaid and prepaid based internet connectivity. Ideally both of them should get similar service, but I do not know if telecom companies give different level of connectivity to both.

Thanks

Where in India are you ? I have found the same connection performing differently in different parts of the country. I am looking for a reliable dongle for Delhi.
