at present NDA is only 6 short of majority there. Remember, 4 MPs of TRS and some others too defected en masse some time ago.

That would be begining of the end of BJP. They have a made a lot of promise in their manifesto which they never fulfilled and they have always had one excuse of having no majoirty in Rajyasabha . It would not work anymore.

beside, they will soon lose it. With loss of major states (rajasthan, MP, chattisgarh) many of Rajyasabha seat will be lost in couple years (or whenever they come up for renewal)

Let's not make any political predictions at present. But majority in both the houses will enable to government to pass through a lot of laws like Women's reservation bill etc.

bjp already passed many without majority using 'financial bill' or 'combined session' approach in last term. Nothing stopping them to do so now.

But they have had to take the ordinance route. Majority vote will have greater legal validity.
