Day Trading Stocks & Futures

I trade in limited scrips. They are not the most volatile but I found them not giving erratic moves.....My list is as under :

1) Bajaj Finance 2) Asian Paints 3) Kotak Bank 4) Titan 5) ICICI Bank 6) HDFC Bank ( it does not give large moves but as I have large holding in it I use it for trading)

Could you please explain how you use your holdings to trading. I mean the process. Will you use them to sell and buy back in the afternoon? or you take margin using your holdings? or how do you make use of holdings for trading on the same scrip or for other scrips

@Riskyman @travi @Smart_trade @siddhant4u @marimuthu13 and all,
Please let me know the best stocks to trade in futures based on your exprience. I need to know the list of stocks that has very good volatility. I really dont want to pay attention on slow (snail) movement stocks. I understand even slow moving stocks will move quickly when the momentum comes. but In general somestocks may have very good volatility of fluctuating atleast 3% or atleast 2%. Please share your stokcs list based on your experience. Thanks
Eariler i used to have fixed stocks in my watchlist which are selected from.sector basis...

1. Bank - Yesbank
2. Metals - Tatasteel, and vedl
3. Pharma - Sunpharma
4. Telecom - airtel
5. IT - TCS..
6. Media - ZEEL.. Etc etc about 21 stocks from.NIFTY 50..

Later removed all stocks from market watch...i used to add 2 -4 stocks around 9.40 am.based action in stock futures looking at short/long buildup, candle formation during first 4-6 5 min candles etc etc... Maximum 2 trade per trade in stock future..

In my opinon Its always better to select stocks dynamic manner instead of keeping fixed stocks list to play for intraday..

I like to trade following stock futures

Stock in blue can move 3-5% on normal days (which is preferred for me). Also, they are not highly correlated with Nifty movements. Most of them have excellent liquidity in cash and Futures. Spread is not crazy. Other notables in second list

Tata Steel
Yes Bank
Hind Petro
BPCL
Reliance Capital
Reliance Infrastructure
Zeel
JSPL

Axis Bank
Auro Pharma
Bata India
LIC Housing Fin
Sun Pharma
GAIL
M&M Financial
Voltas
STAR

Edit: Above list is preferred for Futures. In Cash I could trade many more if I spot an opportunity.

How do you do the checking for Nifty 50 ie 50 stocks within half an half of session starting and then decide which one to trade

How do you spot the opportunity among many stocks ? what kind of criteria do you use to filter them to your list

No,I don’t take any margin on my holding....in few scrips I have good sized holding and that is segregated into investment scrips and trading stock.Investment scrips are not disturbed But trading stock I do short term trading on them...I sell them in rally and Nguyen them either in afternoon or after 1-2 days. Normally I make sure that I make 1.5 to 3 % in this process.....I also sell out of the money calls and puts on my core holding...

Its freely available in many website including NSEINDIA..like top gainers/losers , actively traded stock futures, etc etc will be shortlisting criteria so no need to check each and every individual stocks. I select top 2 -4 stocks only..all these take maximum 5 minutes only..

One best way to find trade opportunity is to find stocks that are trading only oneside of ORB. We do not enter at opening as the price is not yet stabilized. We wait till 10.00 am and enter at In-Range signals. We can exit at In-Range signal near 14day ATR.
