Hi Comm...

:) ... When we put up our business plan, this was our target... having our own propreitory platform on the lines of what you have mentioned... There is a monoply of FT and Omnesys in this space in India. Platforms are outdated by atleast 5 years, but brokers don't really have many options to go by...

The charting tool we will be offering will be on the lines of metastock etc.. you can do your charting, we will also give you a bunch of backtested systems on them....

But as I said, our goal is to reach where we can give an international standard trading platform....

Cheers...
I will give you a year after you launch your own platform to get rid of teething problems and then shift to you with all my clients :)

I dread software issues, and cannot concentrate on trading when the system may be unstable.

Though I can see that the complaints against NOW have stopped, meaning everyone is happy now.

When you make your platform, do make sure that we can open multiple IDS on a machine at a single time, else you will be just like my neighbours young wife. Just a pretty young thing to look at. :)

Hi Sumo,

Complaints on NOW, hmmmm.... What do I say, it is tough to keep everybody happy... :) ... We are testing the new version of NOW today and tomm, we would be offering it to the clients by next week beginning....

We can offer a dealer terminal to our clients today, set up sub-brokers , authorized persons etc... This is the easiest way to grow the business in the broking industry.... But the issue is probably there is only 1 sumo in 100 guys who want to trade on multiple clients and who is honest with all those clients...As someone has said: NAZDIKI FAYDA DEKHNE SE PEHLE DOOR KA NUKSAN SOCHNA CHAHIYE.... ;)....

But we are planning on something if the multiple ID's are part of the immediate family, father, mother, son, brother, sister etc....

Cheers...

Whi said anything about me being honest with my clients? :) hehehehehe

Seriously speaking, I am talking about multiple instances of the software running, each with a different client ID, like Odin Diet, and Pib.
NOT 1 platform with facility for changing client id while punching order. THAT could be dangerous.
Plus, you could have security key for all clients like PIB, so that ONLY the person with the security key can punch trades. Even if the password is hacked, its of no use.

Its not like ODIN CLIENT but like ODIN DIET

Sir thank you, what about cash market margins. How much can i expect for intraday and do you have BTST facility for cash market.
Please answer, the thread is too big and i am tired of searching through all page for answer.

Assume Current month Nifty Futures are trading at 5600.

1. How much amount is required to trade one lot of Nifty future intra day?

11250 as of today

2. I read it earlier, that answer to query above is Rs 11000 approximate. Is that true?
Yes

3. It means, if I have funds of Rs 55000 in my trading account, I may trade 5 lots of Nifty Futures intra day ?
Yes

4. How much amount is required to carry one lot of Nifty future overnight? Is that Rs 22000 approximate ?
Overnight margin is stipulated by the exchange, as of today it is around 28500

5. Suppose, with Rs 55000 in trading account, I am having 5 lots of Nifty Futures by 3 PM. Then, I square up 3 lots and I wish to carry 2 lots overnight. Will something require to do so, or the 2 lots will automatically be carried over?

The 2 lots will be automatically carried over, you just need to square off positions to the extent you can hold with the funds in your account.

6. As said above, suppose, I carry over 2 lots of Nifty Futures overnight, and by 9:20 AM next day, I square off them, and I again wish to buy 3 more lots making it to a total of 5 lots. In this case, will the margin blocked for carrying over 2 lots overnight be released immediately? Do I need to first square off overnight position to buy 3 more lots next day, or I may buy 3 lots without squaring off overnight positions.
Next day morning, again your funds will have the power to hold 5 lots, you don't need to square off the 2 and then reenter 5, you can buy 3 more lots and if you have that 55k in your account it will let you buy.
Please provide step by step answer so as to enable me to finalize some strategy.
Hopefully this answered all your questions, Cheers...

I found it,so i want to trade in reliance and i have 10,000 rs i can daytrade for 100,000 rs in reliance correct?
We give 10 times margin for all stocks that are in F&O and we also give 5 times margin for most other stocks. For some stocks, including Loveable, we do not give margins because these are still considered risky bets on an intraday basis. We will study the stock for some more time and then decide if margins are to be given or not.

Hello Zerodha, just a suggestion, please compile the major questions and point to their answers in the post no. 1 of this thread and put a link to that in your signature. A lot of questions are getting repeated and will continue so, because each newcomer will ask them over and over again.

Strange coincidence, but when testing the new version of NOW today, I realised that the new version has the facility of having multiple instances that can be opened at same time.... Will confirm on the same by monday once I have tested the same....
