Hi,

Thanks For Post. Although I Have Not Checked It, But I See This Is Going To Be Important Part Of Our Strategy. You Might Have Seen Lot Of Things Going On Here In Mother Thread And Baby Thread We Recently Started. Once These Things Settle Down I Will Definately Like To Talk More On This Topic.

Thanks.:)

Hi all
I've written a AFL for MA crossover coupled with BB penetration check. It's written based on Savant-ji's trading strategy.

What the code does:
1. Searches through the universe of scrips for those which have shown BB penetration (lower one for BUY and upper one for SELL) earlier and price has started to move away in the opposite direction.
2. Filters the set based on MA crossovers. It eliminates those stocks where MA crossovers haven't taken place in that day or the day before. (Can be modified to include more number of days to consider).
3. Filters the set based to average daily volume for the last 5 days. Keeps those where avg vol is greater than 20 lacs.

NB: This strategy this code follows is slightly different than Savant-ji's strategy. Here emphasis has been placed on BB penetration first, then on MA crossover. Whereas, I think, Savant-ji does the other way round.

Attaching the code below:

Please throw in your valuable comment regarding any changes or modifications needed.

Regards
DJ

Savant Sir,

Aptly put.

But, isnt the fear of loss the precise reason we have to consider position sizing? Say, on a 1 Lakh account we go ahead and buy 500 Glaxo shares on delivery. Even if the SL is not triggered till T+2. What happens if we have a slide on T+3 ?

On intraday even if the prices slide and have closed below SL, our capital is protected if we take the right position and can close our position the very next day. But, we take a huge position like 500 shares, no matter what (be it intraday, swing or position) we are not safe.

That is my opinion on the question by Balraj.
Balram,

If You Have Clear Cash Balance In Your Ledger Then You Should Be Able To See The Shares In Your Demat After 12 On T+2 Meaning If You Have Bought It On Monday (T) Then It Shold Reflect In Your Demat Account On Wednesday (+2) By Noon

Hmmmm....In The Meantime What Do You Do About The S/L, That Is A Bit Of A Risk If The Stop Loss Hits On Tuesday, Can't Be Helped.

On Intraday Basis If You BUY & SELL There Is No Delivery Effected & You Can Keep S/L Without Problems, If S/L Is Hit On Intraday Then You Only Incur Some Financial Loss That Is All, But No Risk Of Delivery Or No Delivery For Intraday.

Savant Sir,

I have poring over the charts to understand the calls being given out.
On the buy for "COLPAL" , I could not find any cross overs 5,6 or 20, 50 ones.

Same for "Glaxo", the only which I can see is a change in direction of the 50 DMA. Is this the reason for the buy call?

Savant Ji,

Thank you so much.

Indeed it feels great to get a thumbs up from seniors like you for the stocks I mentioned in my previous thered, I worked whole night to gather names of few stocks to build a strong portfolio.

Moving forward can you explain the terminologies

1/ " Fresh Triggers"

2/ " Retracement "

You have mentioned these in the previous thered.

@ DocVijay

Can you send me the link of the thread you have started, as mentioned by Savant Ji in the previous theread.

Appretaite your time and effort!!

Hi Saav,

Here Is The Link: http://www.traderji.com/equities/28224-trading-crossover-bb.html

Captain,

I Think We Should Start New Thread For Live Discussion On Positional Trades. In Current Thread There Would Be Lot Of Confusion For Beginners(Yes Including Me). If You Give Green Signal To That I Would Be Starting It When We Start Getting Triggers For Positional.

Like This:- Day Trading With CrossOver And BB
Positional Trading With CrossOver And BB

Thanks.:)

Guys,

There Are No Fresh Triggers & No Change With Existing Ones.

But Be Careful With PUNJLLOYD, If It Shows Any Weakness, It Is Suggested To Exit.
