on what basis stt is applied ...are they providing any service no ...it is just another tax period ...
stamp duty is another similar excuse
I have not read anything properly but i don't understand the move.

Especially because it says all mutual funds bcos when Equity is purchased they already pay stamp duty or is it because mutual fund houses will allot units from redeemer on some day and give buyer where fresh eq not purchased.
I dont know, how many transactions get settled daily in this manner is also unknown.

Different case for liquid / debt etc but if the primary purchase paid SD, then it should be exempt from 2nd time.

By removing flat tax on Dividend which was net revenue loss, they're covering ground here i think.
