Market was stuck in range for years at that time. Anyway 2009 and 2014 charts are very clean. It is 2004 chart that needs to be analysed properly.
It's not chart, answer is in fundamentals.

2004 market was expecting 'khichadi' sarkar. that's why it kept falling.

in 2009, (a) market was oversold, and (b) congress was about to get more seats without communist party support, communist parties were blocking all major deals/bills/reforms in previous 5 years.

2014, market was expecting stable govt

and now in 2019, again khichadi govt.

It is not what you think that is important. It is about what about everyone else is thinking and how are they going to react so Instead of doing guesswork, i would rather focus on charts which would show everything .
 
does anyone knows how to generate csv from NEST without using excel(link to excel)
RTD of excel is making nest very slow
