Zerodha, in Derivatives, both Futures and Options, the Open Interest at market close and later in the day, there is a lot of difference.

Are we allowed to buy/sell after market close, at the Last traded price?

If Yes how?
Not allowed to trade after market close,

A bunch of things can happen for this difference in OI

1. Usually many requests are placed with the exchange asking to annul the trade, especially in cases where it has been because of some erroneous mistakes, basically fat finger trades. If the counterparty agrees, such trades are cancelled, this might cause the OI to change, this happens after market. Most requests are from the proprietary trading brokerage firms.

2. A lot of positions get squared off in the last few minutes everyday, this could be crowding up the updates on OI from the exchange, and hence shows correct value only after the close.
