Do i need to open demat account as m only trading in commodity futures.?????

thanks. much awaited. Can you confirm the flow:


only trading a/c (no demat) = new demat a/c opening with zerodha.

existing trading + ILFS demat a/c = demat a/c opening + transfer form? + ILFS closure form?

Yes, if someone is holding only trading account with us, you have to send a new demat form.

If you are holding an existing demat with IL&FS, send new demat form along with a IL&FS closure request form (this will be updated on our site by monday). Once Zerodha demat is opened, we will send this closure request to ILFS and all stocks will be moved to Zerodha demat free of cost.

Demat is not required for trading any F&O, be it commodity futures or equity futures.

We have sent the feedback to TR our technology vendors. If our competitor is using the same NEST mobile app and this feature is there? hmm.. donno how it is possible, but checking.

Btw, we will include this on Kite very soon, exiting the entire/partial portfolio on a click of a button.
