It is 5%

There are 3 slabs. 5%, 20% and 30%
So, for a regular citizen below 60 years,

for income of Rs.7.6 lakhs, the tax payable is (2.5lakh*0.05+2.6 lakhs*0.2) = Rs. 12500+52000 = Rs.64500, so the take home amount is Rs.6,95,500

Similarly, for income of Rs. 12.5 lakhs, the tax payable is (2.5 lakh*0.05 + 5 lakh*0.2 + 2.5 lakh*0.3) = Rs. 12500 + 1,00,000 + 75,000 = Rs. 1,87,500, and the take home amount is Rs. 11, 37, 500.

Do I have it right ??

Absolutely correct. But forgot to mention, 4% cess on the income tax (tax liability amount) also needs to be paid.

For example: as per your first example, if your tax liability is 64,500, then add 4% cess to it and pay the tax. Which is Rs 2,580 extra.

Recovery of NPA is at 40%. So considering indian banks has NPA of 10 lakh rs (src Business Standard) with haircut of 60% only 4 lakh cr will be coming back (if at all)!!

Whole banking system cannot grow even if its private banks. Govt has already pumped 4 lakh crore. 6 lakh more will be needed to keep economy in as is conditions.

Edit: I’m sure JSW will now want to reduce the offer further by 4000cr or safe gaurd any liability

None that I know of readily available. Its not tough though.
Just input quarterly data in DOHLC format in an excel sheet and choose to create a candlestick chart. Thats it.
