Fibotrader : Tips

Dear Fibotrader Users,

Here is some tips for u :

Chart gallery:

Located at: Fibotrader > Toolbar > icon Tools > Chart gallery
The chart gallery can be found in the context menu of portfolios
and folders. Charts for all symbols will be shown as per choice of
your template. Clicking on any chart will open the chart window
to allow further analysis. If there is no data available for a chart,
the spot will be left blank.

Watchlists:
Located at: Fibotrader > Explorer > Watchlists
Watchlists give you the possibility to have the program
permanently check securities for certain conditions. Several
conditions are possible and a variety of actions can be triggered
when the conditions are met.
The following conditions are available at the moment:

1. Limit break (Price exceeds or drops below a certain value)
2. Trailing stop
3. Signal from drawing/trendline break
4. Signal from trading system
5. The following actions can be performed when triggered:
6. Just color entry in watchlist
7. Show message
8. Play sound
9. Run program
10.Run script
11. Show webpage
12. Execute filter
13.Show watchlist
14. Send E-Mail

Different actions can also be saved and grouped so that they can be entered faster for future uses.

Example: Create a new Watchlist and alarms:

1. Right-click Watchlists in the Explorer and choose "New Watchlist"
2. Give your new Watchlist a name.
3. Using the menu Watchlist manager you can add the desired symbols to the list.
4. Now select the symbol you wish to create an alarm and click the icon
'Add alarm'.
5. You can now choose the condition type and actions to trigger for the new
alarm.
6. A cross before the symbols name signalizes there are alarms for that
symbol.
7. Click the cross to open the alarm list.
8. Using the icon Windows from the Toolbar you can open the Alarm monitor,
giving an overview for all Watchlists.
9. u can add alarm directly from the chart u are studing. just right click on
any drawing on the chart-> Add alarm->.......quite easy na:)

Re: Fibotrader : Tips

Hello,

Hi.. How do you do?..

I have some questions to ask you..
What is Fibotrade?
From your post, it seems to be a Platform..
A Charting Platform?
Please can you tell me what is Fibotrader and how it is used?
If so can we use that Fibotrader for Both Stocks and Commodities?

Yes it is a charting s/w as strong as Amibroker as far as MONEY & TA is concerned [FChart is not worth to compare with Fibotrader].

Hello soumya_b
i have downloaded and installed the software and it is working very well. it is better than fcharts as you have mentioned.
But still i got to learn the many features which it has so that i can utilise it properly.
i have one small query:
Is there any feature in the program fibotrader which automatically scans all the stocks in any folder for certain criteria(like trendline break, price less than or greater than some value, etc etc) and show us the stocks which match all the criteria specified by us.
If there is one please let me know it.

Thanks
Satish...

Hi Satish,

Fibotrader has a feature called Filter that can serve your purpose.
How to configure it:

1. Located at: Fibotrader > Toolbar > icon Open Explorer > Filter.
2. Click the cross to open the Filter.
3. there u will see a lot of pre-build filters.
But for the users convenience here is an example :
filter conditions:
a. 100 < close < 500
b. RSI > 50
c. MACD buy

4. right ckick on Filter > New Filter > name it 'My Filter'.
5. a window named 'Filter preferences:My Filter' will appear.
6. click the cross on the ' Quote data' > 2 click on 'Quote or volume'
> The Close shall be
always
greater than
100 in the last 250
days > ok.
7. click the cross on the ' Quote data' > 2 click on 'Quote or volume'
> The Close shall be
always
less than
500 in the last 250
days > ok.
8. click the cross on the 'Indicators' > 2 click on Indicator value >
Value of the indicator Relative Strength(wilder)
shall be greater than
50 > ok.
9. 2 click on 'Trading system signal' > Trading system
MACD
shall generate a Buy signal
since not more than 5 days > ok.
10. click Save and run tab.
11. Symbol selection window will appear.
12. select the folder > ok.

happy trading.
