DSP BR Equity Dividend Vs Growth Options

#1
DSP BR Equity is one of the best multi cap fund. But DSP Equity Dividend is 12 year old fund with good long term performance where as DSP Equity Growth is new fund.

Can we choose DSP Equity Growth instead of DSP Equity Dividend in case if we want to for growth option only? Is there any difference with respect to performance and returns between dividend and growth options of this fund?

More over why Growth option was started in 2007 only where as dividend option was started in 1997, why growth is not introduced during all these years, many websites mention only dividend option of DSP equity when considering the performance.

Experts views please???

Every fund has growth and dividend options. Those options have different NAVs. However its the same fund and identical portfolio. It doesn't make any difference whether you pick growth or div reinvestment as for as performance is concerned. The decision is solely on your personal requirements (tax, profit taking etc)

DSPBR Equity has been a good fund, but do note that recently value research ratings have slipped.

I agree. Also, plz note that this fund does not have a portfolio of its own. It is managed as a combination of DSPBR Top 100 and DSPBR Small and midcap funds.
