Hey
@DanPSup, Here in Bangalore it is a social distancing outside and is lock-down by the government authorities to prevent the disease from spreading. We can go outside and buy food and other essentials (medicines, milk , etc) but it is restricted for couple of hours in the morning per day.
We can leave our home if we wish to but it is only for a nearby errand or upto the main road
Ok, I see. Here the shops which sell needed daily stuff like food, water and so on are open in many places from 6Am to 8Pm. Gasoline stations, by which many of them also sell such goods, they are even open from 5AM to 12PM. So, no restriction in this way over here as we can shop when ever we feel to do so.
What the shops do: Either you wear hand cloves or you will have to disinfect your hands in front of security persons, even controlled by security before you enter any such food shop. The security also counts how many do enter the shop and if the distance in the shop is no more guaranteed, then you will have to wait outside of the shop until the accepted numbers of people is on accepted levels. In front of the cashiers, there are marks where to stand to keep the needed distance. So no crowded waiting lines instead one by one is waiting to move towards the cashier.
The official bus and train timetables have drastically changed, means reduced, as people no more use them or only use them when they have no other possibilities to move to there working places, or for what so ever needed.
Many people and food companies over here over free delivery services to old people with no extra charges even for the food. On Friday and Saturday the big food shop companies even offered a 20& discount on all food and wine products.
The biggest problems over here do face the Taxi drivers, as there business broke down by 98%. Most will not survive this month if they not will get help from the government. Tourism section is down and restaurants are closed all over the place. But as for regulations, those section (Tourism and gastronomy) are already supported by the government. Even than: Many companies do not follow the gentlemen agreement government asked for to not cancel jobs to employees and so many got already into unemployment. Many 100;000 have put into Short-time work. But the regulations over here at least will help those short time workers to get some money, guaranteed from the unemployment insurance which is a must to all workers and even employers
Companies which have problems to cash in enough to pay there workers, rents and so on can go the bank and get in most cases now, with out waiting, money from their house banks. This credits are guaranteed from the government if it not gets over Sfr 500'000.-- per contract. The money must be payed back in the coming five years with out interest.
This so far as overview about the situation here. But even then, the situation is moving fast and the government tries to act as quick as possible to the current situation, as the virus sets the tone. But the virus is not the culprit of this problems, it is just the trigger to bring all this up. You may read in the following link to make your own mind about this statement:
