Shut stock market for 3 days to tide over pandemonium

P.S: personally I don't believe that shutting down the market will help. It might bring down volatility to some extent, but, if it is a bear market then the price will go down no matter what the govt, SEBI, RBI, or any other institution does.

Seniors may input their thought about this.

Just saw a news in India TV. An old man returned from dubai and after few days got admitted to a private hospital in mumbai. Doctor there thought he has respiration problem. He hide from doctors his travel history otherwise they may have been alarmed about corona. Now he is dead and to how many people , medical staff, neighbours, visitors he had infected, nobody knows.
Many cases of corona patients running away from isolation wards etc. These people will spread the virus all over india and the population density of over 400 people per sq km will take care of the rest. RIP
People should have some social responsibility, horrible story

Market will adjust the day it opens. Fall can't be prevented by closing it down. Anyway I see it coming, not to stop markets going down, but the way COVD is increasing in Mumbai, the day is not far exchanges go for quarantine.

@cinderblock , cylinder bhai , I Could not understand community transmission, if you are not exposed to anyone then how can test be +ve ?

Experts at the ICMR said there were four states of the disease. Stage-1 is getting imported cases, stage-2 is local transmission, stage-3 is community transmission and stage-4 is when it turns into an epidemic.

While, India is at stage-2 now, experts said stern precautions were being taken so that going to stage-3 (community transmission) could be halted.

Community transmission happens when a patient who is not exposed to anyone known to be infected and has not travelled to countries in which the virus is circulating tests positive for infection.

The ICMR director-general, Balram Bhargava, on Friday said India had a 30-day window to halt the beginning of community transmission. “If we manage 30 days, if community transmission doesn’t happen in the next 30 days, we may be at a good wicket,” he had told ET.
