Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

Yes Taurus1, it works. I changed the theme to Windows 7 Basic and it logged in sweetly as ever !!

I changed back to Windows 7 Classic theme and again confronted errors.. So, basically, if I want to use Pi, I have to change my desktop.

One thing I am sure of is that Pi isn't ready yet. Integrity is a software's first attribute - it should not crash. Whatever be the number of indicators, GUIs, bells and whistles provided, it should not crash.

Thanks again, Taurus1. I hope Zerodha take a note of this.

Hi zerodha,

Here are my views on pi platform.

1. Pi software is v slow compared to other trading platform like every option i click its takes 3-4 seconds to load though am using hi-end laptop with broadband connection

2. Even though pi charting has many advance features some basic features are missing like cross-hair cursor is missing, maneuvering around the chart is v difficult, drawing toolbar is missing etc

Good thinks are:

Pi platform is filled with awesome features & am v impressed with this initiative, only needs to get basic right & it will take lot of time to fix all these issue.

Naveen

My view
a) As a trading plateform Pi is definitely an improvement.
b) As a charting tool Pi is not a dissappointment .

Pi reminds me of earlier versions of QuoteTracker with later versions turning out to be superb finished charting tool. Pi has a huge potential to become a true trading and charting software.
I'm not at all disappointed with Pi. Just imagine if you are a price action trader or you are a no indicator trader then this is absolutely almost a finished product. Most of the people here are asking for custom functionality which is not there for their liking. But this is not a big deal rather an easier part for improvement.

So the design is beautful and see what will happen with later versions. You will only appreciate it.

Congratulation Zerodha! It is great product from an Indian broker first of its kind. The future of Pi is very bright.

ya surely pi is better platform then nest but few problem in new comer pi

banda

:D .i hope in few month pi terminal is more stable ..better ..and some

That's not possible since Zerodha clearly assured us that data feed is as accurate as data vendors.
But, other data vendors like Sharekhan (Trade Tiger), Kotak Securities(KEAT Pro X) are giving fairly accurate 30m, hourly charts than current Pi. Pi is still in beta stage (hope for a data base correction soon).
Lets, hope for the Best. :thumb:

Happy Trading.

Pi is with full of erroneous data, even 30m, hourly time frames is not correct in most of cases. Traders must first check Pi with other reliable data feeds before using it from trading.
Price action traders would be finished soon, if traded with such wrong data feed for long. ;)

Waiting for a clean database with Pi first. Fancy charts with Pi is useless without Data Integrity.

Happy Trading.

Yes, purity and integrity of data is the utter most important thing for traders otherwise bhagawan hi malik hai traders ka..:p:D

Thanks a lot for all the feedback.

The data server is not cleaned yet, I thought this was mentioned already. But some of the feedback you all have mentioned is great. We will have it fixed before the next release. Also today was a mock market, don't know if any of you have ever traded on it, but the behavior is quite errratic.

Coming back to, can you compare this to esignal and ami? I have never mentioned that it will be an esignal, ami or meta.

How can YOU? :)

This is our first beta release, and you are comparing to platforms that have been in existence for over a decade. You are comparing something that we are looking at offering for free charging you Rs 20 per trade (25 cents) to those which cost way way way more.

I know someone will come back and comment that MT4 is given free by a lot of brokers, but let me tell you this MT4 is all CFD's and they don't have to talk to any exchange servers. Even Ami doesn't, just esignal does.

Modulus just gives components, there is a huge amount of work that has gone in to put it all up together and to get it approved by Indian exchanges (which let me tell you has not been easy).

Hopefully you will have realistic expectation, don't compare us to ami or meta or esignal. One of the reason we have built the bridge. You will get the best trading platform in the country in Pi and at almost the lowest trading costs.

Since the provided form does not have space to permit any substantial feedback from the initial look at PI, might as well be done with it by writing here... though most of it should not be unknown to you.
.....

Thank you for providing a pre-release look at PI. The bulk of the effort would have been in tying together the M4 / StockChartX / TradeScript / Nest Omnesys / Server pieces but one can only comment from the end-user viewpoint.
When I spoke to Nithin and said let us have a beta out for only traderji users, I told him that they will probably be our biggest critics, but I knew there will be feedback like this which will help us improve the product and speed up the go to live with our first release.

Thanks

I agree. Zerodha is working very hard to provide the best possible trading platform and backoffice for the lowest price. We cannot compare Rs 20 brokerage with something that costs more than 10,000 every month or something.

I congratulate Zerodha for their first release. If they can keep improving, I am sure you will be the number one broker in India in the next 5 years. Cheers.
