Zerodha,

Orders wont executed if a/c does not have required Margin. Than how can there be Negative Balance.

I presume the moment a/c falls short of required margin, auto square will be executed to close the position.

Then how can there be any negative Balance and the need for Margin Calls.

Or is it you are trying to manipulate for some privileged a/cs.

Cheers

hi pakatil,

As far I know, I don't have privileged ac.

The required SPAN margin on 23rd for 1 lot of SBI Fut is 39,993[https://zerodha.com/margin-calculator/SPAN/]. Instead, I was debited 55235.

They wrongly debited excess amount, that is why I have negative balance in my ac [I believe].
fa,

I did not mean your a/c. Wrong debit is their fault. The Q of margin call should not arise.

My point was order itself is rejected if Margin is not available, then how can the margin call arise....??

Hi

my ac is in negative balance. so, can you reply soon?
based on your reply, i may need to transfer funds to avoid margin call.
The SPAN and Exposure margins blocked in your account is as directed by NSE in their end of day files. Sometimes when the markets get volatile and you have like in your case calls and long SBI futures, NSE SPAN might usually go up for end of day. But as you would have probably seen in your account that extra margin blocked has already freed up.

We tried calling you back on this, you didn't pick up the phone.

Also, you don't need to transfer any more funds..
