I don't know what you are talking about, but I have carried some overnight positions in BNF and margin (SPAN + Expo) requirement for me was a around 28800 per lot.
If the requirement was 28,800 for BN as soft trader has mentioned then it is quite reasonable.

VPS is neither denying nor accepting the statement from the member Jai Mata Di about Margin requirement of Rs. 50,000 for overnight position, so I am also confused now whether this condition is arising for him only or for all clients ?

They are charging more margin then... I have an account with edelweiss who give the benefit of T+0 settlement from NSE, so should be the lowest margin..

Bank nifty is just 8% including SPAN + exposure, so around 24000 per lot.

I don't know if any discount brokers are offering at T+0 benefit. But 50000 is definitely a con...
Yes, probably softy squared off his position within T+0 (next day, within 24hrs) without knowing the real margin requirement for next day. It is updated inside VPS Back Office regularly, there is no problem at all.
Confirmed with my friend again, margin for Bank Nifty is 50,000+

My friend (client of VPS) sent the print screen from VPS Back Office (Taken today based on yesterday's closing, today's closing will be updated tomorrow).

I think all the confusion about Bank Nifty Margin is over, now.

I tried opening backoffice, but it is not opening now because of end of day settlement process. I don't know that is being in your screen shot, it may be probably a mistake there in that list of margin requirements.

But actually the margin requirement is not that high. Because today also I have carried some BNF positions overnight. I can't show you now as the backoffice is not opening.

@SOFTY
I don't know what you are talking about!

Hi,

Margin requirement for Bank Nifty is what Soft Trader has given and that is around 10%. We will check if Back Office file is showing some discrepancy. Has your friend actually traded Bank Nifty with us so far?

Happy Trading

Even if it is arnd 10%, don't u think it is higher .......:D

Hi,

Our margin may not be the lowest in the industry as we are not giving any discount on NSE Span margin as of now, but it is reasonable and not abnormally high.

Best wishes
Good to read your clarification on margin requirements.

Also do you plan in the near future to be more lenient on this front ?
