I have come across many who traded based on CNBC talks. They did well during the Bull run which never seemed to end. Now most of have lost all the earning and many have kissed goodbye to trading itself. I used to called them CNBC traders......... :D

AS CZAR AND TRADER111 always say, follow technical analysis and when you have Saint and others to clear whatever doubts we have, why even put on the TV to hear rubbish, only to lose.

I prefer not to watch TV during the trading hours. I feel that watching TV makes the trading biased, and thus one becomes prone to making mistakes. I believe that all the information is there in charts. Moreover, by the time you see and news or advice on a stock, all the juice has already been taken out.

Cheers,
Kapil

I wish I had TV in my study/trading room. But I don't have one.
There should be some free web site flashing news having bearing on stock markets :D .
Regards.

The live news channels CNBC and NDTV Profit are available on the net. CNBC is available on their own website and for NDTV you can do a google search.

Cheers,
Kapil

Edit: Just wanted to add that they might take up a lot of bandwidth

One who cant read charts have no other alternative, but to eat from others hand ,one such is TV or tipsters etc.Walk into any broker's place you will always find a TV with CNBC tuned on,which the Gallant / Maverick intraday players always use as more out of habit rather as an appendage.
Everything is being reflected in chart & plz beware our Exchange is in a mood to allow 'System Trading' from Oct'08,then a computer from far Japan or Deep in Morrocco
will flush with Huge BUY/Sell in the split of a second ,whenever the programmed computer find a Price inefficiency.Ask the programmers there, what is CNBC / NDTV ,they may think that to be an exotic indian curry !
