Generally, a lower reading (0.6 approximately) of the ratio reflects a bullish sentiment among investors as they buy
more calls, anticipating an uptrend. Conversely, a higher reading (1.20 approximately) of the ratio indicates a bearish
sentiment in the market. However, the ratio is considered to be a contrarian indicator, so that an extreme
reading above 1.0 is actually a bullish signal, and vice versa.....wikipedia

Open Interest in this series look like this :

For first time in last few years ,it so happened that CALL window (row with GREEN background) is not intersecting with PUT window (row with RED backgound). Is it indicating any VIOLENT movement on either side?Difficult to say.Since 3 days are left in this truncated week.Ride the momentum with strict STOP LOSS .

Does it signify some kind of volatile move around the corner?

PCR values are tend to be high on Expiry day or Penultimate day of Expiry. So I do not give much importance to them.

Nice post ,, How you make these kind of graphs ? Is there any software for it ?
No special software . Simple EXCEL will help.
The main thing is the Option Chain provided by NSE . Rest is simple EXCEL.

To be frank , PCR does not give 100% accurate results. I am attaching the PCR data for the year 2017. On LEFT you will find PCR data and on RIGHT ,you will find NIFTY values. However broadly you can say that if PCR is above 1.2 consistently then BULL condition will prevail. But it is difficult to predict day to day market condition based on PCR value alone.
