Health Insurance In India

#2
These days buying insurance is pretty easy, either you can buy it physically or you can buy it online as well. Recently I bout health insurance online because I find it very convenient and easy to do, it saved my time, efforts and money too. I will recommend to go ahead with the online option.

In one word - Yes. This is mainly due to health insurance being available online. Always look for the best insurance plan under your budget - compare and finally select. There are many general insurance companies that offer health insurance, travel insurance and car insurance in India. Choose the one that best suits you.

Yes definitely! Buying health insurance is very much easy; these days most of insurance providers made it very easy for its clients to buy their product easily. Nowadays you either need to give them call request to get detail information about their products and any executive come to you to for further buying process or you can directly buy online from their online portal. I bought health insurance online from Future Generali and it was very much easy to do!

How is Future Generali's claim settlement ratio? Do they have good network in Maharashtra?

The concept of Health Insurance needs to be independently considered by each individual. Just do not go with the advertising campaigns and popular opinion. Let me show the other option.

Health Insurance is a western concept. It is well suited there and almost everyone has it. But, not all of us need it in India. Reasons:

1) We have large families. It is not uncommon to have 6 family members. If we discipline ourselves to deposit 15000 per head per year into FD account, then it comes to around one lakh Rs. every year. I do not suppose our medical expense, what a policy needs to cover, is more than that.

2) If a person has mediclaim, the hospitals charge as much as 25% more. Plus, we tend to take all first class. If it is our own money we will be more judicious.

3) It is not as expensive in India as it is abroad. Doctors, nurses or human involvement in general, makes things 10 times more expensive in US and Europe. So they better have insurance.

Just my point of view. I have decided this for myself, as my insurance company did not give me settlement for last two surgeries in my family.
