Totally agree with you, peace should prevail, based on Gandhian principal of "If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also", for every successful terrorist attack, we should be giving terrorist an additional easy target.

Very disappointing, first time in the history of nation some leader has shown spine to tackle terrisom across the border, and we try to bring him down.
you are missing the point, by proposing peace talks Imran got upper hand. India should have done this immediately after the attack on balakot. World would have praised India for showing restrain.

Now India will be villain by attacking Pakistan. remember indian airforce doesn't have capability so no need for war which we can't win. Modi's image in world is not that good either. Before becoming PM, he was denied entries to various countries even though he was CM.

a big damn to MKG principles, he only made us (read hindus) cowards
"If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also"
from where you show third cheek, if you get a slap on other cheek also

perhaps he meant, then show your butt, and what to do if you a kick there also.

No, I don't think we should turn the other cheek, I'm just saying we shouldn't slap someone first, if someone slaps us first then we have every right to retaliate. Now, you might say that these little terrorist skirmishes are their slaps, I can understand the frustration in that respect because it's cowardly but a full-scale war should only happen if THEY start a war OPENLY, otherwise we might have to keep up the battle of attrition, & continue to isolate them economically & politically while Indian economy keeps growing & moving ahead rather than getting bogged down by a full-scale war.

The leader won the last election by talking about economic development, that's what people voted for, & that cause will take a backseat if a full-scale war broke out. Again, if they open-fire first, then war would be inevitable but India shouldn't start it because India has a lot more to lose.

One guy is worried about his money and trading and another saying what purpose "war" will serve!!

One wonder what kind of India these delusional people want to live and make money which will be thoroughly terror ravaged and demoralised.... really beyond me..

These are the kind of voices which forced GOI to surrender before plane hijacker in 1999.

India se hum hai, hum se India nahi!!

Isliye pehle apne watan ki socho, usko bachao.

See I'm not a war monger and war is not gonna happen. Trust your leadership. They are far more wise. And even it happened then in the past we have fought and survived many thrust upon wars. Each time our country has survived, recovered and flourished after it.

India is doing high stake coercive diplomacy. Economically Pak is in total total mess. We have its scrotum in our hand and it's the golden opportunity to squeeze it. Ratched up the rhetoric and keep the pressure on. Don't let this golden opportunity go. We have already paid a huge for our cowardice.

Read the article of highly respected strategic thinker Chellaney in today's HT. He said "India is already in an undeclared low grade war for 30 years by its rogue neighbour whose price totalled more than all the wars India fought till date. Its time Indian government and its people realise it".

So whatever your views are... it's fine... let us agree to disagree on it... but for God's sake keep such passive views to yourself... airing such views ruins the atmosphere of solidarity, resolve and determination.

Of course Pak doesn't want war. It has $13bn in forex reserves and falling :)

We should be helping them spend it all!

I wish everyone from both countries, who support unnecessary wars, terrorism, violence & what not, should get together at the border, & do whatever they need to do to one another, once & for all; then, at least the rest of the people in the area might be able to live in peace. Both countries have astounding levels of poverty, a large section of the population doesn't have access to nutritious food, clean water, electricity & other basic amenities; under these circumstances, only irrational people will consider unnecessary wars to be a priority over economic growth. Again, if Pakistan openly wants a war, then there's nothing wrong with going to war but if India aggressively pushes for a war, then India will lose more than Pakistan because Pakistan doesn't have much to lose anyway; & being a nuclear power, India will be perceived as a threat to global security, just like Pakistan & North Korea, & if that's what somone wants to see, then clearly, they don't have India's best interests in mind. If someone wants a war, they should strap a bomb on themselves, go to Pakistan, & blow themselves up, just like those Pakistani terrorists do; at least they take the onus upon themselves to do what they want to do rather than expecting others to put their lives on the line for their irrational violent tendencies.
