There is an article in IE today about a trend of lowering the number of tests in Mumbai over the past days. There was a similar debate on India Today wrt Delhi deliberately undertesting. Jab big cities ka yeh haal hai, with all the media glare on them, then God only knows what is happening in hinterlands of BIMARU-O states, with a fraction of testing being done there...
Now WHO approves the use of traditional face covers like gamcha, dupatta etc. 
That's basically what the new guidelines seem to suggest.

The new guidelines on face masks are a move away from what WHO said previously. So far, it maintained that there was not enough evidence to suggest that healthy individuals should wear masks and encouraged the use of medical face masks only by those who were sick or caring for the sick.
Now, in the revised guidelines it suggests that everyone should wear fabric masks (non-medical) in public. Fabric masks should contain at least three layers of different materials. On the other hand, any person showing the symptoms of COVID-19 should wear a medical mask apart from self-isolating and seeking medical advice as soon as they feel unwell."
The fabric masks are consumables. Wonder which companies are going to benefit from these guidelines.

Maharashtra has probably realized that testing without treatment is meaningless. There is no point in testing people for the sake of it. Only those who complain of symptoms (breathing, weakness, other ailments) need to be tested for Covid-19 along with the standard treatment.
India has touched the 10,000 mark for new cases (June 6, 2020) :

... however, lets not spend much time on this as there are not many patients that require treatment. Human body has lakhs of viruses and coronavirus might just be added as another 1 of them.
