Good poll. Most of the politicians have narrow vision. Will say/do anything to get into power.

Would have said Narendra Modi as a visionary and a leader, but his past communal politics as well as present actions on Loayukta bill reveal his true nature. Moreover, BJP is prone to bring religion as an issue and make it 'us' vs 'them'

Rajiv Gandhi can be considered but Congress party has shown they are blind to corruption if it will get them into power.

Sonia Gandhi, cannot be considered as being of Italian ansestry. All money will be emarked for social welfare schemes of tens of thousands of crores, more than half of which will go into pocket of middle men.

Arvind Kejriwal : Honest. But do we need socialism or remove faults in the system that we follow.

Mulayam Singh : Goondaism. Laptops/English may be banned if it gets SP into power. Goondaism will truimph.

Mayavati : We will be a country famous for spending a few lack crores on statues of elephants and of mayavati.

Lalu Prasad : Will be better on comedy circuit.

L.K Advani : Better if he retires from politics and joins propoating religion.

Sharad Pawar : More into wheeling-dealing politics. Anything for power.

Nitish Kumar : Visionary. Has changed face of Bihar. My vote goes to him.

Lalu Prasad Yadav
Mayavati
Mulyam Singh Yadav
Rahul Gandhi
Narendar Modi
Sonia Gandhi
L K Advani
Arvind Kejriwal
Nitish Kumar
Sarad Pawar

Very good comment. I will opt for Nitish Kumar/ Narndrea MOdi. I chose Lalu as fun. But no choice as you are true about BJP as communal party.Nitish Kumar is not so controversial yet so he could given a chance.:):thumb:

I would vote for Narendra Modi. A man with a vision who has already proved himself.
As for excluding governors role in lokaykta, i would have done the same as current governor is only the puppet of central congress government. And why have a governor who herself is accused in a land grabbing case ? It's not difficult to imagine the reasons for congress being so eager to place their man as
lokayukta.
Modi has won by playing developmental politics not communal. States where so called "secular" parties rule have riots almost every month (up, assam, andhrapradesh....) and have worst law and order situation.
Regarding our amul baby...if its on basis of merit, i would be more qualified than him to be P.M. Congress is chaploos party of India, aur sab sonia madam ki chaploosi mein lage rehte hain.
Nitish would be my second choice.
Arvind kejriwal is an honest, simple and intelligent man with good intention of serving country but i think he needs experience of running government, besides no party would be willing to make him P.M.

Good Comment. And agreeing with that Governor and President should not be puppet of CG. These two seems deserving most. But along with it we have to also consider that the party should have capable ministers for other ministerial department.Because king alone cannot rule for long without efficient Ministers in his army.So let see Narendar Modi as of now leading.:):thumb:

Agree with you about many of the above, but the faults in Narendra Modi that we are overlooking now will come back to haunt us later. There is a lot that has been papered over. Modi hasn't contributed a bit towards controlling inflation. As a matter of fact, he has contributed to inflation by raising various taxes.

About the Lokayukta, I am not saying about the governor's role only. It is the fact that the new Bill envisages a perverse form of justice, wherein the complainant is more likely to get persecuted. This bill is more focussed on wagging a finger at the complainant than the accused.
