Wanted ur view, automated investment sites like wealthfront, betterment, and others are getting popular in the west. What do you guys think about it? Any scope for a product like that in India, especially to attract new investors to the market?
so, google tells me that these are some sort of automated ETF investment.
some concerns:
ETF's in India have not outperformed MF performance, unlike in US.
Not many ETF choices are present for you to make product out of it.
ETFs aren't even that liquid here in India. And we don't even have inverse ETFs (although, its displayed on nse website)
Automated - does this mean some sort of algo - pre defined formula that enters/exits the ETFs based on rules?
Tax angle
and then regulatory permission.
and finally, return expected - meaning - would you be able to beat MF? Index? or just inflation.
how will you explain this product to the potential customer - esp indian who's more interested in managing his money (blowing it off - eventually).
these are some concerns that cropped up...
