For Minors - Demat & Online Trading

Hi All,

I want to open a Demat & Online trading for minor. I may not do full trading but I want to apply IPOs, SBI bonds etc. and should have a facility to sell them if required. What is the procedure and which brokers/banks are providing the facility?

Minor trading/banking/dmat account is opened by almost all. You can purchase shares and bonds, apply for IPOs etc in that account. But you will not able trade in such accounts till such time the minor attains majority (age of 18)

Hi,

I have been trying to open a trading and demat account in the name of a minor but none of the big brokerage houses are doing it for me. Can someone please let me know a way out.

I am also interested in opening Demat & Trading Account for minor for the purpose of applying in IPO's. But so far i have not been able to find any Depository Participant allowing/opening. Appreciate if someone can share some details if they know.
