Default Suggestion on MF investment breakup

Hi All,

I'm planning to invest 60K into MFs. This is for a personal goal which is 5 years away. I can take high risk. Following are the MFs that I'm thinking of:
1. DSPBR Top 100
2. Magnum Contra
3. Sundaram SMILE
4. One midcap/smallcap fund - not sure which one

I'm not sure on how to distribute 60K among these funds. I'm wondering if I should just choose 2 from these and invest 30K into each. Any suggestions on the above (fund selection) and amt allocation will be of great help.

Thanks in advance,
Pavan

Hi Pavan. I do not know much about these products however please make sure that the reason for the investment is not some glorious pitch made by a sales agent.Make sure their graphs or figures do not clog your judgment.
At the same time try to get a copy of the following costs.

1> Entry Load (i think this is abolished but i'm not too sure)
2> Advisory or Management Fees (calculated per year and this takes a huge bite of profits)
3> Success Fee
4> Exit Load (If applicable)
5> Redemption fee before lock in period expires.
6> Other expense fee (if applicable)
7> Order Processing fee (if applicable)

And please do not forget the tax department. So the figures that the sales agent produces are going to be pre-tax unless the fund is classified as tax free. You need to speak to the senior/seniors of the sales agent for clarification and calculation or you could do it yourself.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks.
I've been researching some funds from valueresearchonline. I've looked thru the details suggested by and then zeroed on these options. However, I'm not sure what choose from these or, probably, if there are better options!
