Dear CU Bye,

Just by deciding that a stock price will go up doesn't cannot be named as speculation.

What is the logic behind your decision makes it a speculation or not ?

If there is any logic then it doesn't come under speculation.
Though TA is a quasi science it has some logic.
What here I mean by logic - it is about decision points there are several decision points where the price is expected to behave in a certain way.

If you use plain gut with out logic then it becomes speculation.

I am not here to prove if Trading is gambling or not.

My point here is make sure to use TA or any logic with strict stop and don't make an entry or exit with out any reason just because of gut.

Hi Jagankris,

You just mentioned in the last para that if you use speculation then it (trading) becomes gambling and if you use a pure strategy, MM, discipline then it becomes trading.

So the question if not how much money you put to trade, by use of MM, discipline. It is what you do when you decide to buy a stock to trade, it is speculation, you are speculating that the price ill go up. There is no science or art or mathematics involved, it is a mix of all including your gut feeling it is a plain speculation. You may try to name it Techincal or fundamental or price action or volume action or what ever just to distance yourself from gamblers but ultimately the decision to buy is nothing but speculating. Hence all traders are speculators, MM, discipline will only tell how long a trader will be in the market.

Thanks.

Dear
First thing i can say that if u want some ideas , knowledge and opinion then always discuss with some expert not with layman, bcs they always gives u the wrong concept .
Second thing ur question is trading is gambling or not? in a single word the answer is no. In gambling you can not minimize your loss.In trading you can minimize your loss.
Dear you are new in share market so first you should know the market , the logic and behavior of market . Don't invest your money blindly , get some idea from expert. And dear one more suggession that anybody or any firm ,who says about handsome return or monthly return then just avoid them , you must trade yourself only .

Thanks

No point arguing if it is art, science, maths, geography or biology. One thing is for sure that trading makes a trader 'history' since almost most of us are struggling and have lost our money, continue to do so and will keep on loosing it.

Thanks.
Good point.

Only way out is to emulate someone successful if they are willing to point the way.:)

Not everyone loses money,
its just that for how much time one can hold on to it.
A very high degree of self motivation is needed.
With a negative mindset anything that is done will not(never) produce desired results.
