General Trading Chat

Opened an account with Fyers. Will wait for them to introduce Bracket orders before starting trading. Meanwhile looking at their software.

Fyers One seems to be very similar to tradelabs softwares, a lot like Sine of TSO. But Fyers Web looks interesting.

It's good to see discount brokers are concentrating on technology. Fyers just launched their Mobile app recently, it was good.

Now, discount broker Samco launched Advanced Mobile Trading app Stock Note.
Look if anyone trading from offices. I am trading with multi-monitor desktop setup from home, so no use.
But it could be useful for someone trading from office/shops etc. Price alert and direct news feed trading is there. It is still in beta stage, but it's quite impressive.

These days, this VWAP gap is not working (most of the time)
Can someone cite a reason, why so
We have to understand why any pattern works. How does VWAP gap pattern work ? Here suppose the market is coming down and there is a VWAP gap it means bears are in control....but they will press the accelerator and leave the positions overnight squeezing the bulls and forcing them to run for cover only if they are confident of trend for next day.But with the current uncertainty in international markets, even bears with winning position are not willing to press sales and leave the position open as there may be a upside gap next day opening and that is why bears though in commanding position, look to book profits near the end of the day and that gives a upward movement .....so the strong side prefers to take profits instead of holding overnight and trapping the side which is trapped on the wrong side and hence the pattern does not work in such volatile environments when traders are not sure what the market will do at open the next day..

Adding to your point, the text book approach is a more conservative position size in volatile periods but from the apparent erratic volumes the pros seem to be even more aggressive in position sizing which as you pointed out will also be forced to square-off by EoD dampening the VWAP effect.
