Warning on critical Java hole

The current version of Java contains a serious security hole that allows computers to be infected with malicious code when a specially crafted web page is visited. The hole is already being exploited in the wild although currently only for targeted attacks. But since an exploit is now in circulation, it shouldn't be long before criminals exploit the vulnerability for large-scale attack waves.

Update for the above post: Use the following link to see if Jave is active in your browser.

http://www.h-online.com/security/services/Java-747799.html

If you get the message: Activated, then you are under potential risk of an attack on your system.

How to deactivate Jave in your browser as the next Jave update earliest will come in October?

Use the following link: http://antivirus.about.com/od/securitytips/ht/How-To-Disable-Java-In-Internet-Explorer.htm It has a description for each different browser how to do it.

An other way for Firefox is to use this add on: NoScript. With that you can block the Java Platform on any link you use.

Adobe Reader and Acrobat are two of the most insecure programs running on your system.

Adobe Reader and Acrobat have very tight integration with the browser. In many cases, the integration is so tight that a website can automatically open a PDF in your browser without your explicit permission. Via this method, attackers can silently deliver Adobe Reader and Acrobat exploits which in turn infect your computer with malware. All without you clicking a thing.

Fortunately, with a simple tweak you can force Adobe Reader / Acrobat to behave and make your browser prompt you for permission before opening PDF files. Unfortunately, there appear to be other ways to forcibly open a malicious PDF without your permission. In his Free Malicious PDF Analysis E-book, security researcher Dieder Stevens shares two additional ways that Adobe Reader and Acrobat automatically invoke

http://antivirus.about.com/b/2010/09/29/the-automatic-opening-of-pdf-files.htm

Now follow this steps to save your system from attacks through adobe. This steps you can make directly by opening adobe reader and then just follow what is posted. Very simple explained and you not have to be a computer expert:

http://antivirus.about.com/od/securitytips/ht/adobesafety.htm

The next step is within your system. Open the Adobe program file and follow what is posted in the next link:

Dear TP

Ccleaner you have to instal the full program. Ccleaner is a nice tool for the laptop or computer you always work with. I also use that on my private system. But when you go to an internet cafe or maybe use somebody else computer, the PrivaZer has an advantage in that situation.

Which one?

The advantage from PrivaZer is that you can download it on the computer you currently work and you not have to install it and that is a fine thing in case you not have any administrator rights on that system. Got the point?

You download the exe to the desktop and when you open it you are asked if you want to run it without installation. It then ask for the last update which you say: Yes.

You then follow it step by step. The tool cleans very good, but not very fast. This happens specially the first time you use it.

these ccleaner type of softwares , i think better to avoid. these type of softwares and some optimizing software brings unstability in the system .better use default disk clean up utility eg in xp instead cccleaner

I have been using ccleaner for years now and am quite satisfied.

Further, for registry cleaning, I have found Glary registry quite useful (not that I have needed it much).

I have used it on XP SP2 and it worked well. I am presently on Win7 ultimate but never needed the registry cleaner.

Tried internet boosters many years ago and found them useless.
