AMC for Demat?

Hi,
Say i've a demat account with no shares in it. not a single stock. in that case, the usual AMC i.e. annual maintenance charge applicable? I am not planning to put any shares in this demat for next 2-3 years. i just don't wanna close the account.

my broker is Religare & i've demat with NSDL.

Yes, AMC is always payable. In fact, lesser the transactions, higher the amount usually.
