I have been reading on options from last 6 months now. I have read many books on options and very excited about the opportunities it provides.
I also started trading in option. This is my 6th month of trading in options. Turn around is not very impressive. My learnings is as follows
1. Option liquidity in indian market is very poor. Specially for stocks. Nifty options are very liquid but less in stock. you cant play any advanced strategy.
2. Option pricing are very high because of low liquidity. Risk reward ratio is very low. Many times options expire worthless or just near the money
3. I am also trying to get access to some option related data to see if we can make out any trend
4. My monthwise gain/loss is -38, +3, +33, +7, -22 (still in loss and hope to recover in next few months)
5. We dont have long terms options sold i.e we only get options of current month
6. Most active interest is in call options. You dont get to see many offerings in Put (for stock as underlying)
I will appreciate if people contribute/share their experiences in option
