Gulf Oil Corporation secures Rs 1100 mn Mining Contract from Singareni Collieries
M&M to invest 400 cr in TechMahindra and 1200 cr in 2 SEZ in mMharashtra.
VIP : Planning to set up 20 exclusive brand outlets in the six Indian metros.
GTL : Plans to hive off BPO unit.
India's deepwater oil blocks are looking increasingly attractive to foreign players, and competition from overseas companies is heating up as the deadline for placing the bids nears.
Australia's third largest oil and gas firm, Santos, is likely to bid in the new round. It has already signed an MoU with Reliance Petroleum for partnership in exploration and production.
Indian exploration firms like ONGC and Reliance Industries, that have been bagging most of the oil and gas blocks so far, will clearly have to pull up their socks this time.
Both companies have already lost out in the recent coal bed methane round where they didn't win a single block, and now with so many foreign players lining up for NELP-6, the new auction will end up fuelling a lot of competition and collaboration.
Tata takes on RIL, bidding for Nelp-VI.
