Look at the rise in number of cesareans, hospitals make more money in cesareans than normal birth. One of my relatives chose to hide that his office is gng to bear expenses of child birth.
Yes, I'd agree that for most surgeries doctors push for it to meet their monthly quota. But as far as cesarean is concerned, there are as many parents who push for a cesarean because they want their children to be born on a particular date after consulting their numerologist.

BEWARE OF CORPORATE HOSPITALS AND CORPORATE DOCTORS.

(From mail fw. - as received)

Corporate hospitals are paying a salary of one and half lakh per month to their doctors. But they have monthly targets. the target condition for them to remain in job is that, they have to write tests and and scans worth 3 lakhs and trap 25 patients for surgery every month. This is not happening in charity hospitals. In many hospitals, unwanted surgeries and risky premature cataract surgeries are being carried out. One has to be fearful of corporate hospitals. If you show your medical card or if you say " Doctor, don't bother about expense, please save the life " to a corporate doctor, you are gone. If they terrify you and do not give time to think, you should become alert. A genuine doctor will talk encouragingly and don't terrify you. You can ask your family doctor or a friendly doctor to visit the patient as a visitor and take a second opinion before plunge into corporate hands

*If you or your family have been advised a surgery or a medical procedure and if you are confused about the medical options for you, then call at 70266 46022 or send your medical reports at medical@medisense dot me or visit medisensehealth dot com. They will get you a second opinion from an expert doctors panel. It is a free service for patients.

This free service for patients is available in 21 cities in India which includes Mumbai, Chennai, Mangalore, Bangalore, Hyderabad etc.

Recently I had to undergo the same hassles in a reputed hospital(name withheld)during treatment of my father in law.

The recent movie"Gabbar is Back " highlights this issue.

If you are insured, opt for cashless insurance before surgery. Doctors have to justify the procedure to your insurance compnay before your claim is approved.

Not saying doctors cannot still perform unnecessary surgeries but it's definitely a hurdle for the doctor and the hospital to give it in writing to the insurance company.

That is the reality of life Amit..... While you are a positive person and post a lot of this stuff, the reality of the world is something that we cannot ignore. While we can be positive in our life and attitude, we cannot take people at face value.... Everyone is damaged in some way, and everyone has a dark side.....

Well, So you know the key this puzzle. So no matter, even if you are given a million similar puzzles, they will be a breeze. So in essence, it means the more of these puzzles you crack, (and collect more keys) you will master solving the questions.... Competitive exams are similar. Most are repetition of certain patterns - though the questions may be framed with different variables, the answer is easy if you have solved similar problems before.... hence in our country, we have mushrooming of 'coaching classes' but still lag behind in creative skills.... hence inventions and innovations come from the west (even though the engineering may be done by products of IIT factories)

My 2C.....
