If planning for retirement or passive income, Bank Fixed deposit might prove to be better as senior citizens get approx 8% interest (without any tension of ups and downs like a debt fund)

Also most debt funds are not giving more than 8% interest anyways .. mostly in the range of just 6% p.a. and no special tax benefits either.
These days the following category of debt funds are giving above average returns : Money market funds, Corporate debt funds, low duration / dynamic duration bonds, Government securities/Gilt funds.

One more puzzle :

I am holding Rs. 600 worth of DSP Nifty 50 equal weight direct IDCW, it is in two folios.

But I received IDCW in one folio and not the other :(

IDCW not received here :

That being said, dividend of Rs. 15.83 on an investment of Rs. 300 is good, with price appreciation.

Another thing : I had opted for IDCW PAYOUT, but they have reinvested it.

Give them a call at their support number and get it resolved. This is one of the things I'm sceptical about these Mutual Funds.

I have written to Groww about it. Let's wait and see. There are two more issues for which I am awaiting their response.

Being skeptical is the perfect attitude. The trick would be to make it work in one's own favor.

In a first, a liquid fund suffered a price crash.

TrustMF Liquid Fund Direct Growth had nearly half a percent downside yesterday.

Why am I bothered ?

This is why.

Strange going ons..... the value has changed between morning and now

The dashboard too is restored.

Even the AMFI bhav copy is showing a different value for the same date, as compared to morning.

Something tells me again and again that MFs are at presently at country club stage, a closed world with very much laid back attitude, as were the stock 30-40 years ago before the computerization.

That time there were 15 odd stock exchanges in India, now there are about 40 odd fund houses calling the shots.

The smaller funds might not be having the technology for giving the timely updates, etc.
The matured fund houses might have the needed processes in place for timely reporting.

A DOWNWARD revision in the expense ratio of a fund is a rare thing, and this time two very pleasant love letters.

DSP MUTUAL FUND came out with their Banking Fund in 1st Week of Dec 2023.
They claim banking has the lowest valuation currently. Unfortunately received an email with the below:

Dear Investor,Please note that the Risk-o-meter of DSP Banking & Financial Services Fund has been revised to indicate
the risk level as ‘Very High Risk’ as against ‘High Risk’ earlier.
The revised Risk-o-meter of DSP Banking & Financial Services Fund => ‘Very High Risk’

*Investors should consult their financial advisors if in doubt about whether the scheme is suitable for them.

.. and the scheme is anyways below cost :mad: ... currently negative returns .. hopefully will be green shortly ...

Sorry for not posting it earlier, but later Trust MF sent out an email admitting and rectification thereof.
