Re: Help with trading and beware of con seminars

Hi
Greetings to everyone,

To start with, I am a novice to the markets and wanted to learn how
to trade and it was out of sheer frustration after losing money to
paid seminars, that I decided to stop attending seminars
and learn to trade without paying for tips. I managed to :lol:find
this wonderful forum (Traderji) after i got tired of attending a
seminar. (I attended two seminars, one to learn the basics, and one
related to learn how to trade options and could learn nothing). One
seminar guy gave me strategies, or formulas as he called them, which I
noticed had been discussed long ago by others in Traderji and was
quite useless, which made me think that if the strategies were so
good, why was the person selling or teaching it instead of making
money himself:annoyed:. Some blatantly advertise the virtues and the
success of the seminars over regional TV channels, which is truly
sad.:(

A trader who has been trading for over 8 years pointed out that none
of these self proclaimed seminar "trade teachers or market gurus " had
made decent money and do still work at other jobs or teach at seminars
as they were unsuccessful traders. The trader also told me that he was
still searching for answers and attending seminars at an average of
5000 to 7000 per seminar every two to three months:(, and had lost
quite a sum "just trying to learn to trade the right way" in the last
eight years. I considered myself lucky that I lost just two seminar
fees and quit going to seminars.

:thumb: I really appreciate the people here in the forum who
selflessly share their knowledge answering the basic and complicated
queries by taking their valuable time off from trading, or other
work.:clapping:

I would be grateful if someone could guide me as to the right way to
begin trading and how to go about trading the proper way. I know it
takes time to grasp things and to read and get to know the market,
should one start with technical analysis to begin. Also, could someone share information about good trading classes run in Bangalore. I heard Chennai stock exchange runs them every month or so.

Thanks in advance.:thumb:
