How merger ratios work

Possibly this issue may have been discussed earlier,

but what happens to balance shares during merger?
The merger ratio for JSW steel and JSW ispat is 1:72.
So If I hold 80 shares of ispat what will happen to balance 8 shares ,What will I get for them?

They will pay you cash for the balance shares.
