GMR Infra - Stock Split...

GMR opened at almost half its previous closing which had me panicked for a while. But I reasoned it must be a split as I couldn't find urgent news for the dramatic drop. Finally found out it was a stock split. Phew!

Anyone know of a website which keeps a calendar of stock splits?

BSE and NSE Websites have all these announcements under 'Company Announcements'.

Have got few stock holdings for GMR Infra brought @ Rs. 157/- What does the Split indicate??? Is it that now am in loses with this stock? Do I need to hold it until it reaches to a profit margin????

As a stock split you get double the shares what you had earller to stock split.
i.e.if you have 100 share now the quantity will be 200. so you lose nothing.

Thanks Shirurkar..... I see that the Board of Directors of the Company has approved and fixed 5th October 2009 as record date for giving effect to the sub-division of each equity share of Rs. 2/- each in to 2 equity shares of Re. 1/- each.
