Identifying extry, exit points to maximise profit

#1
Hi,

I am doing a paper on trading strategies which requires identification of entry & exit points to maximise profit.

A part of the this question involved calculations of mean and Strandard Deviaiton for a sample of 4 year period (2005-2009) for the same stock.
It also required to identify how many times the share prices moved up or down during the research period (i.e. two months of 2009) i.e. no. of SD away from sample SD. I have done this part.:) Refer attachment

Now I need to identify strategies to maximise profits and extry exit points.

Could someone give me some hint or the right approach or the method?

Normally any technical analyst considers the volume behaviour including 2 resistances and 2 supports. He then considers 4/5 technical
indicators and when 4 of the 5 indicate either a buy or sell he does likewise.
Say in Business Line the 21 day and 50 day moving average is considered, the daily and weekly RSI, the daily and weekly MACD is considered .
Finally he ensures the stoploss is stricly observed. Also note multicollinearity. This means that the technical indicators from different types(or classes ) is considered.

Hi Speculatorbd,

The question requires use of 4 year data as sample to calculate mean and SD.

Now I have two more months data (say July and August) to plot the chart and use the results to build trading strategies.

I need to use candlstick charting to build the trading strategies.

Appreciate if you could give me a weblink or any material to be used a sample trading strategy using candlstick charting
