Early exit signals

HI, I M NEW TO USE METASTOCK SOFTWARE, I INITIATE TRADE ON THE BASIS OF MACD AND EXIT ON REVERSAL OF MACD BUT IN THIS PROCESS, I AM NOT ABLE TO BOOK PROFITS AT THE PROBABLE TOPS. CAN ANY BODY GUIDE ME WAT ADDITIONAL INDICATORS/EXPERT SIGNALS I CAN ATTACH FOR THE PURPOSE.

Hi Vikas, it would be useful to know what signals to use to enter into a stock. Also, plz let us know what values you use to calculate MACD.

I don't have a desktop software, but I use http://www.icharts.in/charts.html
I use the values "3,10,16" for MACD.
If the red line crosses above the blue line - BUY signal
If the red line crosses below the blue line - SELL signal

but MACD will work only in trending market, not a range-bound trading market. Whether it is trending or trading can be checked by observing BUY and SELL signals in retrospect. MACD will not work as good in trading market.

one can't get the tops using macd, use candlesticks and your targets (support/resistance) to get tops.
