I suppose in a trending market the RSI may not work as expected.Shud use combination of moving averages and MACD.

Each indicator has its own strenghts and weakness. You need to experiment and learn more on how different indicators behave in different market conditions.

Technical Analysis authors mostly describe indicators by giving examples of conditions when they work best. What they do not descibe is what about the other times when those indicators do not work at all?? So do not blindly follow books but do your own research and figure out how best can it help you under different market conditions.

I personally do not care much for the RSI (probably because I have not been too successful using it in my style of trading).

Well, the RSI is not exactly in overbought territory in that chart. (In fact it's near one of it's 'support levels' at 50).

Generally speaking, however, the RSI is a bit slow in it's ob-os journey. That is why i do not use it as the (primary) ob/os indicator (Stochastic does a better job of that. The importance of RSI lies elsewhere).

in case of TataMotors, what i think most impt is to see if that 50EMA support holds. (I think it will)

Regards,
Kalyan.
