Which funds will give the best return?

Sir,
I want to know which fund will give the best return ? If a person wants to invest Rs.12 Lakhs of rupees at a lump sum basis. Moreover I want to know how he can go for SIP as he is interested to invest with available fund of Rs. 12 Lakhs.

Please guide with a suitable example relating to present market scenario.
