Let me tell you buying Mutual Fund through brokrages is never a good idea because its the most costly medium of investing. But even then if are you going with them you can have a look at one of my posts by Clicking here. I have compared reliance money with ICICI direct. ICICI direct is free if you have mutual fund investment of more than 8 Lac else Reliance Money is cheaper.

If you are new to investment in Mutual Fund probably it would help to know various channels of investment and choose the one which best suits you. You can read about the same by clicking here.

Yes I think you can though I have never tried it myself.
Dear Amit..both links you gave are broken :( ..plz send a working link

Also how much does Sharekhan charges if I want to buy say 100 units of ICICI Pru Discovery fund ?

Do they charge both side (entry and exit ?)

I think HDFC ISA charges have been revised to Rs. 200 per quarter.

I personally use one and transactions including Switches, SIP's & SWP's are smooth. The only disadvantage is that they don't offer all AMC's for investment. For example Fortis, Sahara.. etc. atre missing. Given below is list of AMC's supported by HDFC ISA account.

AIG MF
Bharti AXA MF
Birla Sun Life MF
Canara Robeco MF
DBS Chola / L&T MF
DSP BlackRock MF
Franklin Templeton MF
HDFC MF
HSBC MF
ICICI Prudential MF
IDFC MF
ING MF
JM MF
JP Morgan MF
Kotal MF
Mirae Asset MF
Morgan Stanley MF
Reliance MF
Religare MF
SBI MF
Sundaram BNP Paribas MF
Tata MF

They started with about 10 AMC's initially. I think they cover most of the major ones and will keep adding in due course. You are right regarding the fees. I get a 50% waiver since I have a Classic account.

Is there any other charges involved in buying/selling MF online ?
(I mean brokerage or any other load).
eg. if I buy a fund of NAV @15 what would be the net cost other than this qtrly charge.? Please reply...
