Default Metastock RT refresh behaviour

A friend baught Metastock Pro. from the distributer
Never ordered official RT data supply. reason .... rates
Asked me for solution.

Finally I made a code using various components to fetch Realtime tick data to Metastock & refresh charts automatically.
Up to now I use Amibroker. (Where chart stays rocksolid while updating RT)
To me, MS behaviour when the charts get refreshed, is weird.

1] When Metastock refreshes chart after every tick, the chart flickers.

2] If you are analysing historical chart by scrolling back, at every refresh, it drags the chart back to the latest prices.

Do the Subscribers of esignal OR any other official data supply, witness the same behaviour ?
If anybody, knows, any solution to this ?

Official data subscribers / anyone who knows this, please guide me.

Omkar

Did you try to refresh the data manually in METASTOCK?? Even when the prices are updated manually the MS drags the chart back to last data. So my view is that it is not dependent on the S'ware used for refreshing. This is an in built thing in MS. You have to 'pause the refresher' to analyse the historical data.
The link posted by ppvsin is a good stable refresher but would not solve your refresher problem.

Dear ppvsin,

Thank you for the reply.
I already tried that. The utility is nice indeed.
But it refreshes by opening, View>Refresh Data in Metastock. And as rkkarnani suggested, it carries the same problems.

Do you know whether, the Subscribers of esignal OR any other official data supply, witness the same behaviour ?
If there is any solution to this ?

..........

Dear rkkarnani,

I have the same guess. But,

They sell the software for around 27000 one time & they sell rt data for some 60000 per annum.
I wonder if they have their smooth way for their own data subscribers.

My another hope is, countless people in the quest of smooth free rt data, if somebody in any corner have found the solution it'll do.

Thanks to both of you for your comments

Omkar

Thank you for the help offer

But I am already getting tick data for all my scrips without any delay.
My problem is only with the Metastock refresh behaviour.

Thanx again

I had used a trial version of CGLIVE by Albatross Software of Kolkata. They provide rt data from 5m bar onwards, but the refresing is rt. The refreshing is done by a separate window which flickers, but the chart is displayed in the MS window. There I did not find any flicker in the chart window and the chart window was quite stable and navigable as in eod chart viewing. I'm not a sw person and I don't know if this information will be of any help to you; but just in case ......
