Hi Experts,

Myself Mandy Rawat from Dehradun Uttarakhand. I am a housewife and also have very much interest in the stock market. Im investing in the stock market from past 1-1/2 years. So far I am doing good. But at the same time I want to learn more about the stock market like what is the F&O, short selling and many more :D. I used to get information about the stock which I want to buy from internet also watch business channels everyday. I use visit sites like money.rediff.com and moneycontrol.com to get to know the fundamental and other information of the company. But some time I fell I should have some kind of group where I can share my views as well as clear my doubts with other investors. I searched on google "Indian stock market forum" and I found Tradeji.com in the search first result list.

Thanks TradeJi to facilitate this great forum for the investors.

This is all about me :D.

Thanks!
Mandy

Hi Mandy,
Welcome to the TJ family. I am sure you will enjoy the interaction with fellow traders here.
Good to see that u are actively participating in raising many questions..

My view on your stmt
I am a short term investor. I want to gain more knowledge so that i can start trading.
As per definition = trader is the person who buys and sells something with the intention to make money.
And thats what we all are in the market. We all are trader. Our timeframe might differ - one might close her trade in 15mins, other in 3 hrs, other person on next day or in next 5 days. But they all are doing nothing but trading. For that matter, if someone closes a trade in next 9 months is also a trader but with longer timeframe.

So think like a trader, not like investor. Decide on your average timeframe to hold a trade. Watch out on your belief about stock market etc that comes from various people around you and CNBC.

If you follow their stmt, and what they say, you will end up being like them, earning like them.
And if you want to be different from them then first this u got to do is to check the validity of what they are saying.
As a trader, I know whatever they say, most of it is crap in stock market.
Professional traders think and act very differently, exactly opposite to how a normal human being thinks and act.
Thats why, they collect the profit, and 90% of other normal human being loose here.

So make your choice and decide which camp u want to join and do the things that people in that camp do.

All the best.
Happy Trading
