Scrips values after market hours

#1
Hi all,
Does the scrips value change even after the market closes. If yes, where can we track these values(any website which displays this after hours scrips values?). Why is the opening price different than the previous days closing price? Can we guess about this opening prices before market opens?

Thanks in advance.

the last trade price at 3:30 pm will be changed after 5 minutes to closing price. closing price can be higher or lower than the closing price.

opening price is decided by the first buy order and sell order when executed. so, it's not possible to guess the opening price.

1. You meant "last trade price" :).

2. Why not? If your after-market bid / ask is matched?

Yes,for 10 minutes from 0350-0400 Hrs.
Most brokerage house provide this trading. But here one condition that
NO LIMIT are accepted ,only MARKET order are accepted.

The other day RPL had a LAST trading price as 103.50.
It's lowest price for the day was 100.35.
But it's closing price was 98.75.

hi

yes the closing price is differ from the last trading price at 3:30 pm. Actually closing price is the average price of share in last half an hour i.e. from 3 pm to 3:30 pm. thats why it is differ from the last trading price.

As u said only market orders are accepted than why price will change? it should remain as last traded price

because last traded price will be the market price. am I rite? plz correct me if am wrong.

If not than who will decide the market price?

Simply put it's their SUPPLY/DEMAND or in other words BID/ASK rates.

For example let us say a scrip had 100.00 as last trading price at 0330.

Say ,it has potential to grow fast.In order to have in my portfolio at any cost ,I will put a market price 100.20 ,but a smart fellow like you put a market price of 100.30 .In this way DEMAND is created.

It means we still define our price but finally market price will be executed depending on the availability. And thanks for the quick response.

Thank you all for the replies.
So there is no way to know the opening price before the market itself opens for trading.

Does any brokerage firms provide the offer/bid prices for the After market hours trading requests? i.e say 10 ppl submit BUY request after market hours with Broker X, Can i find out the best bid among these 10 requests before market opens If i also have account with the broker X?

Sorry if am sounding confusing.

Hello Suresh, U want to know that the price of stock of previous close n todays open is not matching. The simple reason is that before market hour there are lots of buyer n seller are waiting to square off there stock so within a single second lots of trade is to be done as that time price may change as per the ASKS n BIDS
Thanking You,
Ashish Pugalia
