Scrips values after market hours

Hi all,
Does the scrips value change even after the market closes. If yes, where can we track these values(any website which displays this after hours scrips values?). Why is the opening price different than the previous days closing price? Can we guess about this opening prices before market opens?

Hello Suresh, U want to know that the price of stock of previous close n todays open is not matching. The simple reason is that before market hour there are lots of buyer n seller are waiting to square off there stock so within a single second lots of trade is to be done as that time price may change as per the ASKS n BIDS

hi guys, wanted to bump this thread to ask a question along similar lines:

as we know, the LTP of one day and opening price of the next day with any scrip may have a difference, sometimes a big one as supply/demand changes at mkt opening time.

for example, i place an aftermarket hours order for Scrip1 with LTP of Rs. 100. However, the next day, Scrip1 opens at Rs. 105. therefore, my order will get executed at a price of Rs. 105/share.

what can be done to mitigate this difference between desired purchase price and actual opening price? Is it recommended to place a LIMIT ORDER with a defined LIMIT PRICE? Does SLTP have any relevance here for BUYING only?

or should one forgo after hours trading completely in order to avoid this price difference, for better or worse?
