Tendulkar : a sad end ?

Folks

Its sad to read about the legend's injury.

Some questions arise :
- if he was truly injured after Sri Lanka series (and know about it) why did he not opt out and give another player the chance
- What is the chance that with both limbs imperfect now (left elbow and right shoulder ) he will be the same Tendulkar we knew and treated like a demi God
- therefore ... should he not gracefully retire now ... lest ( God forbid) he eventually gets booted out like some others

PS By the way, who is paying for his treatment and UK trips ... and pardon me if this is a stupid question

Your question is not stupid, my next questions are stupid.
Why is he in the team even after failing for 10 consecutive test innings?
He was there during the whole Azhar/Ajay jadeja saga, why did he never speak out?
Why during watching matches we see him more in advts and less with a bat in his hand?
Why is he the holy cow who cannot be kicked out for failures when Saurav got the treatment even with a better performance?
Why ? Why? Why?

1. Emotions make everybody weak. It's not the ordinary trader only who is a slave of emotions.

2. He is already not the same tendulkar anymore.

3. Yup 'ld retire gracefully. He 'ld have retired after previous World Cup, it was really a great pull back for him but now he won't retire till this world cup. Every1 wants to retire at the peak and they think that downward move is a pull back only. Sometimes double tops are made, sometimes even tops are taken but what if the trend-line is broken? Everybody is not a gavasker who planed the trade and trade the plan. There are examples galore like Kapildev who kept on playing 4 records long after stop-loss was hit.

4. BCCI as a good employer will bear the expenses from the money it generates from selling all those expensive TV rights and interest income.

Regards,

boss there is no way u can compare Tendulkar and Saurav,
its like tisco and sail.
He is still a good ODI player(tour of Pakistan) regarding test matches he is bit confused abt how to play, whether agressive or defensive and more so his better innings have come when he is not facing the almost new ball(in test matches)

RIGHT you are Stoxtrend, on averages alone your comments are spot-on. Yes, Sachin is talented, served India well, set records...etc... BUT.. but he too has to come under the same scanner of selection. If not, our selection methods & the whole cricket system in India will stink of foul-play & corruption. Now, let our boarders decide for themselves.

As for you sandynisha my friend, may I humbly say that stoxtrend has'nt notched Vinod Kamble or Steve Waugh higher than Sachin, he/she only said that averages alone don't count for much. By the way sandynisha, how come you did'nt mention Bradman in your rebuff to stoxtrend?

Can't help it pal, I just have to second this comment of your's again. This is as far as this controversy actually deserves to go.

AND...as sandynisha says, no emotions attached anywhere my friend, just plain common sense on a very uniform yardstick. It could'nt get any beter than this, I mean the unbiased bit.
