Hi guys,

The question I want to ask you is how do people react when you introduce yourself as a stock market trader.

What I have come across is a mixture of disbelief, they regard you as a gambler, a person who does not work or want to work for the money:rolleyes: among other things. Ofcourse all the above from people who have no idea what trading is all about.

More importantly, how do you deal with it ?

Do post your experiences and reactions.

i think most of them have to face it up....atleast the new struggling traders
who wanna make a career out of it....its hard for ppl to believe in technicals...cuz the moment we start counter arguement trying to explain the subject , they will come up questions like : ok tell me wt would be the close for market today ? will it go up or down ? blah blah....
so wt i have learnt is to stop doing any arguement and just prove....
in fact those ppl they themselves not wrong cuz for any non technical person its hard to digest the fact that technicals do work...
so its better to just listen them and unreact to it

regards

That is why it is better to work at home and rather do home based job. I don't want to feel the hassle of commuting and experience the high cost of gas.:) For me I'd rather not react.

A layman after viewing a few TV shows (on CNBC and local news channels) and the expert advises believes it is easy money and jumps in. By the time they enter the market one thing is sure - market is near a top, then chaos is everywhere. Ends up in huge loss. He easily concludes it is foul play by the operators etc. that caused him his loss. And the market is a big gambling place. One thing is sure, IT IS NOT HIS NON COMPETITIVENESS OR INABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE MARKET THAT ENDED UP IN HUGE LOSS. always the blame is on never seen Big Operators, they took my money. And they thinks they are smarter than others in the market with his contacts to tipsters etc.

Just like the sore grapes.
