With free hosting, you won't get a top-level domain such as www.marcus.com, you may get something like marcus.tripod.com OR marcus.freewebs.com OR marcus.geocities.com OR www.brinkster.com/marcus etc. etc.
If you want a top-level domain, you will have to be a paid-member of any web hosting company like Net4Domains OR Rediff OR ***** etc. -Siddique |

These days all the good web hosting cos provide the starter package; features vary from host to host. Take a look at http://directi.com, http://net4domain.com, www.rediff.com, http://bombaybiz.com etc. They all provide site building tools too. These tools may not be very robust but for starters, they can suffice.
